For decades, visitors flocked to Australia to enjoy its great outdoors and witness its wonderful wildlife. Now, Australia’s vibrant gastronomic scene has transformed the entire country into food destination. With great culinary assets, Australia has placed itself on the world food and winery map.
Visitors to Perth will be spoilt for choices for restaurants with mouth-watering menu, cafes, breweries and wineries. There are endless number of unique dining experience, restaurants with splendid views and food presentation that will leave you in awe. Just get your camera ready for some incredible Instagram-able food shots.
Listed below are some of the restaurants I have sampled on my recent trip to Perth.
MOORE AND MOORE CAFÉ FREMANTLE
Situated in a rustic warehouse, Moore And Moore in Fremantle has an eccentric artistic atmosphere for a café. You can choose to dine in their beautifully set up courtyard or the art room. Instagram-able presentations, gluten free options, veggies and top-notch ingredients, this café is certainly a hidden treasure of Fremantle. You’ll be salivating just looking at its menu! I had grilled mushroom, brocollini, watercress, baby kale, thyme and hazelnut oil with organic poached eggs. That was to die for that I tried the whole works as soon as I landed back in my home country.

KAILIS FISH MARKET
A trip to Perth is incomplete without a visit to Kailis Fish Market. Kailis Fish Market is well-known for decades for their freshest seafood that are cooked to perfection. Set up on a picture-perfect location, right by Freo’s fishing harbour, this restaurant serves delectable seafood platter and is famous for its fish and chips. I paired my seafood platter with an ice-cold Little Creature’s ale. It was the perfect combo on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The food were beautifully presented that foodie blogger who may has been eyeing on my lunch came to my table and asked me to pose for the photos for her!

ISLAND MARKET TRIGG BEACH
The carefree and laid-back beaches around Perth are now flourished with beachfront dining scene. A trip to the beach isn’t just about enjoying the sun, swim or surf but becoming a trend for long lunches, afternoon teas, weddings and private parties.
Island Trigg Beach is fabulously set up overlooking the Indian Ocean. The extensive range of Spanish-Mediterranean tapas shared dishes were exceptionally delicious and sipping through my citrus cocktail in the Australian sun was totally divine!

BAYSIDE KITCHEN MATILDA BAY
With views overlooking Swan River and Royal Perth multi-million dollars yachts, this alfresco dining restaurant is certainly a great spot to spend Sunday brunch or long lunches over a glass (or more!) of Western Australian wine. It is located very close to the famous Instagram-able spot of Crawly Edge Boatshed. I had the luxury of dining like a King when I was there. The fruit platter and the breakfast were served so elegantly I swear I wanted to hug the plates. If you’re lucky, you might spot dolphins leaping through the river while you’re there!
Address: 5 Hackett Dr, Crawley WA 6009, Australia
CORE CIDER HOUSE
This is my first experience visiting a cider distillery. Core Cider is an award-winning brand. Located on the magnificent Perth Hills, Core Cider House is indeed a lovely surprise. I went fruit picking on its lovely landscaped orchard. A ride on a carriage towed on a tractor to the fruit picking orchard is certainly fun especially for young children.
The Cider Tasting after was undeniably the best part of this tour. Visitors has the chance to taste freshly brewed cider and have meals at their farm-to-table food at their gorgeous restaurant with stunning views of its orchard. I had goats cheese and apple tart as a starter and warm Australian beetroot salad with cider poached pear (from the orchard), rocket persimmon and pistachio salad paired with a cider called HardCORE. Delicious!

Dining - It is one of Perth extraordinary experiences
My recent trip to Perth has certainly expanded my taste-scapes for a gastronomic experience. The diversity of Perth’s dining scene could be a quest for tourists to find authenticity in the trend of foodie destination. I shall be back to explore more.
