Malaysia Welcomes Everyone: Here is the Latest Procedure to enter Malaysia with some Tips for You

Hey guys. Believe it not, because of the past lockdown, I had fallen in love more with our own beloved country, Malaysia. I explored Malaysia more than I had in the past, before the Covid-19 made their first appearance. Covid-19 has been declared as endemic for 1st April 2022 . Since then, I have had so many DMs from my fellow travel friends around the world that they are planning to visit Malaysia as they know that Malaysia has opened the border and welcomes everyone. But they are still not sure about the procedures to enter Malaysia.

Let me get clear on this matter. It is not as complicated as before if you are a fully vaccinated traveller. Trust me. I had travelled throughout the pandemic, and quarantine has become my best friend. If quarantine time substitute with flying hours as for pilots, I might be becoming a captain.

This is the procedure for travelers entering Malaysia from 1 April 2022.

  • Download “MySejahtera” app (Android/iOS)
  • Complete the pre-departure form via the Traveller icon on MySejahtera
  • If you are Fully Vaccinated: Digital Traveller’s Card will be issued
  • If you are Partially Vaccinated/Unvaccinated: Digital Home Surveillance Order (HSO) will be issued.
  • Undergo PCR test 2 days before departure for travellers 7 years and above
  • Travellers with previous COVID-19 infection (6-60 days before departure) are required to undergo a professional RTK-Ag test 2 days before departure
  • Purchase a travel and COVID-19 insurance (for non-Malaysian citizens)

  • Undergo a professional RTK-Ag test within 24 hours of arrival
  • But if you partially or vaccinated travelers, you need a mandatory 5 days quarantine.
  • For RTK-Ag-test:
  • The professional RTK-AG gest can be done at any health facility of your choice (I will guide you on this) ** NOT ONLY at the airports ya! Can do outside also…
  • But, if you do not have time to do the RTK-Ag test before you fly, on arrival also available at the airport whether using COVID-19 breathalyzer or professional RTK-Ag tests.
  • Cost of on-arrival professional RTK-Ag test will be borne by travelers
  • Children aged 6 years old and below are exempted from the on-arrival test.

Easy and straightforward, right? Let’s visit Malaysia. We welcome you to enjoy our country.

If you want my tips, I have one recommendation for the RTK-Ag test. You can check out eMedAsia, which is a one-stop for Covid & travel platform or partner or assistant.

eMedAsia is owned by HS Bio in partnership with Koperasi Persatuan Perubatan Malaysia (KOOP MMA), an investment vehicle for members of Malaysian Medical Associations (MMA). MMA is the main representative body for registered medical practitioners in Malaysia. eMedAsia has about 2,500 MOH recognized general practitioners (GPs) nationwide on board in the platform,

What eMedAsia offers?

  • Services offered through approximately 2,500 MOH recognised GPs nationwide
  • Professional RTK-Ag tests with results updated directly to MySejahtera
  • PCR tests with results updated directly to MySejahtera
  • Virtual Covid Screening Tests which is in compliance with Ministry of Health's requirement in partnership with CLEADOC
  • No more clinics or hospitals visits
  • Perform your RTK or PCR tests at anytime anywhere in your comfort zone
  • Results verified by medical doctors & updated directly to MySejahtera
  • Blood & diagnostics tests
  • Covid Insurance (coming soon by end April)

For inbound travelers:

🔆Skip the Airport Test Queue with Online Pre-Booking for your On-Arrival RTK Tests through at approximately 2,500 eMedAsia’s GPs nationwide

Why eMedAsia?
  1. Skip the long queue and avoid crowds in airport testing
  2. Minimize the risk of COVID-19 exposure while queueing
  3. Arrange RTK or PCR Swabbing on site at your accommodation (hotel) or nearest clinic
  4. eMedAsia has over 2,500 registered members nationwide
  5. Affordable services
  6. Direct updates on MySejahtera by the medical doctors/clinics (manual updates not required)
  7. Reliable, registered medical doctors recognised and approved by MoH & KOOP MMA

How much??

Professional RTK-Ag performed at clinics:

  • RM90 for foreigners
  • RM70 for Malaysian
