Attractions in Penang | Wonderfood Museum

It has been a while I did not visiting Penang. When my cruise stopped in Georgetown, I had a chance to strolled around for half day. I was so surprise to know that Penang has a lot of museum. When I walked around, I found Wonderfood Museum. I read about this museum before online. So I decided to check it out.

Set along Lebuh Pantai, Penang Wonderfood Museum is a five-minute walk from Queen Victoria Memorial Clocktower Penang. The entrance fee for foreign visitors is RM25 for adults and RM15 for children, while locals (with MyKad identifications) are required to pay RM15 and RM10 respectively. For me, the price is affordable and kinda worth it.

Set within a 1940s colonial building in Georgetown, the museum is divided into three galleries called Info Zone, Wow Zone, and Educational Zone. All of the hyper-realistic models are handcrafted by the museum’s owner, Sean Lao who utilises food replication techniques from Japan.

I love the most is the Wow Zone. The big Laksa Penang is a must pose spot to take photo. While looking at it, I am so craving with Laksa Penang.

If you are traveling solo, do not worry with the photo. Every section, there will be a crew to help you to take a photo. They are so helpful and can suggest you the best pose for each food replica.

Another highlight that I like the most is the World's Most Expensive Foods. It is so informative and it is just mind blowing to know this kind of food is exist.

It is good to gain a knowledge from the Info Zone and Educational Zone. But I think people coming here because of interesting food giant replica. Do not miss out to pose with Giant Durian and Giant Roti Canai.

For me, I think Wonderfood Museum is one of the attraction you should not be missed. Spare your one hour to stroll around the museum and gain more knowledge.
