I heard about this restaurant from my friends when they shared their photos in the Facebook. I am always a Thai foods lover. When I was shopping at Pavilion Shopping Mall in Bukit Bintang, I decided to have a dinner at the Greyhound Cafe, only five minutes walks from the Pavilion Entrance.
This restaurant actually a restaurant for the Ansa Hotel and offering the Thai-Fusion foods. I was informed, they are quite famous restaurant in Bangkok and have a few branch there such as Siam Center, Emporium and etc.
I went to Greyhouse Cafe a little bit late, around 8.45pm-ish, many empty tables and not to busy. When I entered, I greeted by the crew, and I immediately chose my own table, as I do not want to be located at the awkward location as I was alone. LOL.
I fall in love with the style and interior of this restaurant. Quite cozy, and hipster. The crews also efficient in their work. I do not have any problem with their services. Like I said before, might be that time was not too busy.
I immediately look into the menu booklet. As I really do not know to order, I decided to check out their Instagram or whoever had posted the photo with the hashtag for the dish recommendation. After a while, I decided my order.
1. Salmon Sashimi in Spicy Hot Sauce (RM26) 7/10
I am not a fan of spiciness but I would like to try this appraiser. At first, the sauce a little bit bitter for me. But after a while, when I eat together with the Salmon, it taste very well. Talking about the spiciness, well, it is not really spicy. The dish look nicely presented. Nothing to brag about and I had quite mix feeling about this dish.
2. Fried Chicken Wings (RM18) 6/10
I do know about this one. A simple and expensive fried chicken wings for me. Nothing ordinary like my mother cook at home. I think they want to present Pandan Fried Chicken here, one of the Thai dish. But they better stick with fried chicken rolled together with Pandan leaves, much more better I think.
3. Pad Thai with Fresh Shrimp (RM26) 8/10
Whenever I visited Thailand, I eat Pad Thai a lot. This Pad Thai didn't disappointing me. Nicely presented and it is look beautiful. Love the amount of the fresh shrimp on top of my pad thai, and big omelette with it. Now I know where to get good Pad Thai in Kuala Lumpur. If I am back to this restaurant, this is might be the reason. Taste is good. Almost the same taste I ate in Thailand and not to oily.
4. Coconut Filling Cake 10/10
I kept the best at last. This cake is taste-mazing!. I do not know to describe it, but I am impressed with how good the taste of this cake. First time I encountered this type of cake where the coconut filling in it. Quite brilliant and creative. Bravo. Anyway, I forgot about the price for one slice. Recommend to try.
Disclaimer: I had paid for this meals with my own money. I am not being paid to make this review, not own the restaurant, or having any share in this restaurant.
