Kota Kinabalu is our hub before we continue our journey to Ba'Kelalan. Yes, we are going to Ba'Kelalan using land via Lawas. At first, planning to fly to Ba'Kelalan via transitting to Lawas. Unfortunately the passenger sin Twin Otter of MasWings is limited to 9 persons per flight plus the flight is limited per week, the itinerary changed, and decided to use land instead.
I flew to Kota Kinabalu from Kuching with others from Sarawak's Media and Tourism Malaysia Sarawak team using MH2806. Only took about 1h our 20 minutes to land in Kota Kinabalu. Then we met others media from Kuala Lumpur.
For tonight, I will stay at Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu. I had been to Kota Kinabalu for a few times, but this is my first time staying here. I was given superior room accompanied with one roomate, @travelwithseth, a media from Kuching too. For this kind of room, the price is about RM150+ including breakfast.
Room is comfortable, not really spacious ( you only can walk in front of the bed), usually standard of superior room every where. It is also clean and good for a night stop before we continue our long journey to Ba'Kelalan. Love the toiletries as they given 2 sets.
The view from our window is another building. Promenade hotel is just 5 minutes walk to the Oceanus Waterfront mall and 12 minutes walk to the Philippines market. I did not go out that night as I want to rest a little bit before the real journey start tomorrow morning.
Hotel's lobby is spacious, loved the chandelier. For the breakfast, there is a choice of 6 for the main meal. I chose Nasi Lemak and coffee for my big breakfast before I start my journey.
As for conclusion, this hotel location is very strategic and the price is affordable for the comfortable stay in Kota Kinabalu. I am happy to stay here if I travel back to Kota Kinabalu.
