At last, I flew with Qatar Airways. It had been my very long time wish list that I want to fly with them and try their best services as they had won the Best Airlines title for a constitutive year (not this year, Singapore Airlines beat them).
Last July, I need to be at Cyprus for working purpose. So my company had bought me a Qatar Airways flight. First it will transit to Doha then continue with connecting flight to Larnaca, Cyprus. I will make another review entry for the Doha-Larnaca flight. Both flight, luggage is limit to 40kg.
From Kuala Lumpur to Doha, QR855 will depart at 1005hrs. The time is perfect for me as I do not need to wake up too early in the morning as journey from KL City Centre to KLIA is about 1 hour.
I had checked-in online earlier as I want to book a window seat. My seat number was 27K, located in the Zone 2. The luggage drops was smooth, as my ticket is only one way, the checked-in counter requested me to show some more documents. No problem with that as I know it is one of the formal procedure.
My flight took about 7hrs and 20minutes. We are using B787 with 3-3-3 economy class seat configuration. The boarding time of the flight is by the zone. I was greeted with a smiles with their cabin crew when I entered the aircraft.
I found my seat immediately. For my size, the space was perfect. The seat also comfortable. There was another girl seat at the aisle of my row, but no body was seated between us. It just perfect as I can move freely.
Blanket, pillow and headphone had been ready on my seat when I arrived. Cabin crew then distributed the wet tissue and the amenities. Really impressed with the amenities as I had flew with economy class in different airlines, no amenities been given. It consists of sock, earplug, toothbrush, toothpaste and eye cover.
For the in flight entertainment, the screen is big enough with the variety of movie choices. Up-to-date movie available and I watched "Game Night" during the flight. In the middle of the flight, my screen system "jammed up", I called up the cabin crew, she said that it is normal, and then she restarted my seat screen. After that, it back to normal.
At my seat too, there is one USB charger, so you can easily charge your phone. The headphone is not the noise cancelling, fortunately I got my own headphone.
I subscribed the inflight WIFI services on board for 20USD. It was fast enough to update in the social media. I uploaded for photos in my facebook without any problem. Normally, at the certain areas, the Wifi is not available.
This is my first time seat to the next of automatic window system. One hour after we took off, I still can't close the window even I pressed the button a few times. I am exposed to the sun and really uncomfortable. After a while, all the windows been auto closed automatically, but for this time I still can't open it even I want to see outside view. On the middle of the flight, then I can control the opening and closing of the window.
I am really impressed with their flight meal. The appetizer, main meal and the dessert really good and delicious. Qatar Airways served 100% Halal meals and very convenient for the Muslim. The main meal was beef stew with a potatoes and it was beautiful presented. They served the meal with the steel cutlery. The buns and KitKat chocolate also been given.
2 hours for we landed, another snack meal served in a box. It is consist of vanilla muffin and curry pie. It was good.
We landed Doha on time and it was a very smooth landing. I am happy to fly with Doha Airways and I do not mind to fly again with them as they offer really great services.
