Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) in partnership with Qatar Airways and The Pearl is to host the seventh edition of the Qatar International Food Festival from 16th– 22nd March 2016 at the country’s Museum of Islamic Art Park.
The seven-day festival showcases Qatar’s diverse dining options combined with local and international cuisine, across more than 60 diverse food stalls, as well as cultural and hospitality experiences.
This year, visitors will also experience the flavours of China, as the event will draw on influences of the 2016 Qatar China Year of Culture. Fusions of the diverse cuisines of both nations will be on offer as well as traditional Asian and Qatari entertainment. Other main innovative activations this year include a casual ‘food truck’ concept which will be organized on a beach at The Pearl
Locals and visitors alike will have the opportunity to sample authentic Middle Eastern cuisine and as they wander around the vibrant festival, their palates will take on a culinary journey across the globe. Prominent chefs such as will be present, showcasing fine dining using the freshest ingredients and latest food trends. Pick up some tips in the ‘Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre’ zone, to use back home. There will a variety of events for the whole family with special zones for children and music entertainment, including jazz, traditional Oud players, and musicians.
A number of one-of-a-kind dining experiences will be returning for 2016. For thrill seekers, take to the sky for a delectable three-course meal, elevated 40 meters in the air with the ‘Dinner In The Sky’ experience which is being organized by the Qatar Airways in-flight catering. For more relaxed family dining, savour many of the flavours from the self-propelled individual stalls and hotel outlets whenever visitors can take in the vistas whilst enjoying a meal for a truly memorable afternoon.
The festival will reflect Qatar’s range of dining options including several high-end restaurants that have opened in the last couple of years including two Gordon Ramsay restaurants at The St. Regis Doha; the Gordon Ramsey Doha which offers signature seafood dishes and Opal by Gordon Ramsay, offering culinary favourites such as steaks, crispy chicken wings and an extensive pizza menu.
