Review: Space Hotel | Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur | Am I on earth?

Am I going to the Mars? I felt like it. I had found one of the most interesting capsule hotel around Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur, and it's called Space Hotel. Yes, I found it in booking.com and it is only RM39.05 on the time I booked. They just started their business few months ago. When it's name the Space Hotel, they did not joke about it. They really adapt its theme to the next level and its really suitable with their capsule bed.

 

 

Their hotel sign is small and you would probably missed it, and yes, it's hard for me to find this hotel, even my Google Maps showing that I am in the right place. 

You need to go up first floor by stairs and then, there will be an elevator for you to go up to the reception floor. You need to take out or shoes and slippers and put on the rack. If its too expensive, just keep your shoes in the plastic with you, believe me, it is kinda safe to keep your shoes there.

I am impressed with their reception lobby as there is an astronaut greets you. All the wall painted with the space and galaxy theme. I waited for 10 minutes before the staff attends me at the counter. I was immediately registered and they had my booking. RM50 needed for the deposit.

 

After the registration, I was then escorted by the staff to my capsule bed. She showed me the bed, and how's its worked. She also showed me around the hotel. My first impression, the cleanliness of this hotel is at the top notch, their facility also complete, I am really happy with my bed, and it is really cheap.

 

My room having a 16 capsule beds and everyone will get their own locker. You need your key card to open your locker, your capsule bed door and the hotel entrance door.

I am really surprised how spacious inside the capsule. The mattress is comfortable and two pillow provided for you. Inside, there are television with entertainment, a headphone, safety locker, USB charger plug, ad international socket plug. Various type of light inside the capsule with control switches. The AC and air circulation is excellent, and I did not feel suffocated like my previous capsule experience. For your safety, smoke detector also attached in your capsule.

 

The only part that I did not like staying in capsule that, you can't know that whether it is a day or night without looking at the clock. You need WIFI? No problem, based on my speedtest apps, the download speed is about 13mbps and upload speed is about 9mbps.

 

 

Talking about the facilities, the bathroom is really clean. Here also have a coin laundry machines as low as RM5. I love the open air hangout lobby at the balcony. The best and unique part, the have the slide to the lower floor if you do not want to use elevator.

 

Last word, for the less than RM40 per night, my stay is beyond my imagination. Worth it!
