It was 7th day of Ramadhan, and I got an Iftar invitation from the Saujana Hotel & Resorts. This was my first time ever to visit this hotel. It just located next to the Citta Mall, and the nearest LRT is Ara Damansara station.
In embracing the spirit of sharing and giving during the holy month of Ramadan, the management and associates of Saujana Hotels & Resorts reached out to the local community by holding a special Iftar session themed ‘Celebrate the Spirit of Giving’ for over 100 underprivileged children from Rumah Kasih Harmoni Orphanage, Sungai Buloh.
The fast breaking event was held in Saujana Ballroom at The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur where the team put together over 80 dishes in favourite Malaysian, Arabic, Japanese and Western flavours, similar to the offerings from the hotel's Ramadan buffet ‘Menikmati Aneka Juadah di Saujana’ as a treat for the children.
To add to the merriment of the night, a local magician and entertainer was invited to put on a special show to kick start the night, while the associates from Saujana Hotels & Resorts put on a musical performance especially for the children. The children from the home also put on a show of their own with a meaningful nasyid performance.
The associates at SHR also contributed to support these children by collecting donations which was presented to the home to help them in providing food, clothes, and other necessary provisions that the children may need.
Before concluding the event, representatives from the hotel as well as representatives from the Board of Directors of Saujana presented the children each with a school bag filled with some basic provisions and duit Raya on behalf of Saujana Hotels & Resorts. Over 100kgs of cooking oil, noodles, food items, and other daily basic necessities were also contributed by Saujana to the home.
This event is a continuation of the yearly practices for Saujana Hotels & Resorts every Ramadan for the past 11 years.
