My father & my mother. Did you see the 2 backpacks for 2 weeks? |
Seriously when I posted this thing, tak jangka pulak sambutan hangat macam nie.
So di sini akan jugak dan berkongsi dengan para pembaca my blog, semoga memberi inspirasi kepada anda.
Currently, I had posted my backpacking with my parents story in "Backpackers Buddies Malaysia"'s group in Facebook. Unexpectedly, my post had been become "FRIED BANANA" among those backpackers in the group and gain almost 1000 likes (the number still increasing!) less than 24 hours after I posted... and I'm like what....?
Also not forget with the good comments, with many friends request and also many had PM me in the FB for my advises and saying thank you for the inspiration story. Seriously, when I posted this thing, I do not expect really good feedback.
So here I will share with my readers, hopefully will give you some inspiration.

Setiap kali nak pegi berbackpack, pasti your parents bisingkan?, cakap bahayalah pegi sorang2. Betul tak? Setelah banyak kali berbackpack, I bawak sekali kedua2 parents I, my lovely ayah is 65yo, and my lovely emak is 60 yo. Dah 2 kali bawak diorang backpack.Seriously, diorang sgt best dan supporting time I bwk backpack first time, then later I bwk lagi for the next route yang lebih mencabar. So, sapa2 yang ingin bawak parents diorang berbackpack, maybe uolz bolehla ikut my route kot. Owh, all the places yang dipegi actually I dah pegi, so, kiranya I mcm guide diorang gaklah. So sekrang diorang tak bising sgt bila I ckp nak backpack2 ni, cuma bising bila nak kawen pulak …
*terkejut sebab diorang packing backpack diorang lebeh kecik dripd I.
Memang sebelum nie kami pun selalu travel sama, roadtrip more than 10 hours sama dan mostly jalan2 sekitar Malaysia, tapi ini special sikit sebab I want to tunjukkan kepada mereka what is Backpacking All About dan tak perlu nak buang duit banyak-banyak time travel dan ambik tour yang mahal-mahal yang janji ntah apa-apa
Everytime you want to go to backpack, of course your parents start to disagree with you right? They say it is dangerous to go alone. Am I right? After I been backpacked so many times before, I decided to bring my both parents, my lovely father who 65yo, and my lovely mother who 60 yo. I had brought them 2 times for backpacking adventure. Unexpected, they are the best and really cool when comes to backpack. When they succeed the first route, then I decided to bring them along for the 2nd route which were more adventurous. Actually, most the places we went, I had been there before, so that is mean I was like their guide. Now they never disagree with me when I tell them about my backpacking plan. Only they mumbling about when I want to get married... LOL
*Shocked because their backpacks smaller than my backpack.
Actually before this we always travel together such as roadtrip more than 10 hours and travel around MALAYSIA, but this is so special because I want to them that what is backpacking all about and we do not need to waste big amount of money for travelling like taking the expensive tour which we do not know what to happen.

Highlights & Tips
*Train dekat Indonesia sgt selesa, so mmg takda masalah.
*Train ride in Indonesia is comfortable, so no problem occured. We can ordered the meals during long journey. Our longest train ride was 9hours. From Surabaya to Jakarta
Seperti 2nd trip, we started from Ho Chi Minh, and returned from Penang.
*For for saving, do not buy return ticket at the same place, wasting money for transportaion, like the route in Indonesia, you can go from Surabaya, and back from Jakarta. Like our 2nd route, we started from Ho Chi Minh, and returned from Penang
*Berhati2 dengan kebun strawberry petik sendiri, my mom keracunan makanan setelah makan strawberry, make sure basuh dulu bersih2 sebelum makan.
*Careful with the strawbery farm self picking, my mom had food poisoning after ate the strawberry, make sure you wash the strawberry properly before you ate.
Like me, ada certain places my parents stay kat hotel and I stay kat hostel berhampiran sbb some hotel sgt strict.
*Certain hotel we can stay 3 persons in double room without extra charges. If the hotel want extra charges, just say to them that you not staying together with them. Like me, at certain places my parents stay at the hotel and I stay at the nearest hostel because of the strict rule of the hotel. Also there was hotel, we booked for 1 double room and 1 dorm bed, but they upgraded to the Triple room without any charges
*Penggunaan supir di Indonesia adalah sangat efektif, murah & cepat untuk yang travel more than 3 person.
*The use of driver in Indonesia is very effective, cheap & fast if you travel more than 3 persons.
*Sebelum start the journey, I bagi briefing dulu what to expect and scam2 yang boleh wujud, jgn bercakap dgn sebarangan orang n everything serta nak bagitau ini bukan shopping trip.
*Before start the jouney, I gave the briefing to them what to expect and scam that we could encounter, do not talked with suspicious strangers and etc including inform them this is not shopping trip.
*Satu tempat tu just pilih satu main highlight and yang lain2 tu kalau dpt pegi is a bonus.
*Every places, just choose 1 main highlight and other places if you can go is a bonus.
*Borobudur & some places in Angkor Wat mmg tak sesuai sgt untuk orang yang berumur. Example in Borobudur my mom just stay kat bawah je lagi pun dia still x sihat becoz of the strawberry in Bandung.
*Borobudur & some places in Angkor Wat are not really suitable with older person. Example in Borobudur, my mom just stayed at the park, plus she still not recovered from the food poisoning in Bandung.
Ho Chi Minh, Phuket & Hat Yai mmg kedai restoran halal dibawah hotel ataupun just di sebelah je..mmg takda masalah.
*We stayed at the hotel with HALAL breakfast in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh & Bangkok. So you can save money for breakfast. Ho Chi Minh, Phuket & Hat Yai, the HALAL restaurant just downstair or next to our hotel. There is no problem.
*Do you know kan sekarang dah ada direct bus dari Siem Reap to Bangkok tanpa bertukar2 bas? Kami guna yang tu… around dalam USD28 per person, no hassle and very easy.
* Do you know now there are direct bus from Siem Reap to Bangkok without changing bus at the border? We using that bus, around USD28 per person, no hassle and very easy.
Haha…
*The most funny moment was the bus ride from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap when the bus stopped at the bushes for whoever want to pee or .....
*Alhamdulillah we can prevent ourselves from shopping at the HOT places such as Ho Chi Minh, Tanah Abang, Pasar Baru, MBK Mall in Bangkok... hahaha
*Mostly my parents berkawan dgn staf2 hotel. Sampai boleh mintak2 resepi lagi…
*Mostly my parents being friends with the hotel staff. Until they can asked for the food recipes.
*Planning kena proper sikit, even diorang ckp tak kisah sgt, tp byk yg kena consider, mcm tempat2 yg senang nak cari halal food or kalau hotel dekat dgn masjid atau surau lagi ok, senang nak dgr azan.
*Need a proper planning, even though they said they really don't mind, but many things need to consider, like the places easy to find halal food or if the hotel near the Mosque even better, easy to hear the AZAN (Prayer Call)
*Mostly2 temple2 tu actually my parents taknak pegi, tapi dah explain some of it wonder of the world and byk sejarah, so i ckp kena pegi, sbb diorang tak suka tgk patung2 yang scary.
*Most of temples, my parents do no want to go, but after explaining some of it Wonder of the World and many history and need to go, because they really do not like the scary statues.
