Raya Comes Early at Central Market Kuala Lumpur

A special Hari Raya celebration was brought at the heart of Kuala Lumpur city last Saturday, 17th June, inviting the arrival of Syawal right about a week in advance.
Classic Ghazal Performance
Classic raya mood were showcased for free at Central Market Kuala Lumpur through a Welcoming Syawal event, with cultural dance performance and traditional ghazal singing taking place at Central Market Walkway. Lemang, nasi himpit, chicken rendang and peanut sauce were also presented in festal appearance at the event besides dodol-making demonstration, roti jala making and kuih goyang cooking demonstration.

Having brought the fun of the festivity, Central Market invites all visitors to learn and explore Malaysia’s Islamic architecture together through Ramadan Raya theme brought this year.
The Complex Manager of Central Market Kuala Lumpur, Puan Cheong Wai Mun, said that the mall is showcasing mosque miniatures in colourful caricatures for the season.

The five mosques are Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque (Johor State Mosque), Sultan Ismail Petra Jubilee Mosque (Beijing Mosque) in Kelantan, Ulul Albab Mosque or formerly known as Masjid Kayu Seberang Jertih, Terengganu, as well as Al-Azim Mosque (Melaka State Mosque) and Panglima Kinta Mosque in Ipoh.
